Playing like a team on a mission, after receiving a brutal 4 - 0 pummelling in their final round robin game Thursday night at the hands of Boomer's Bombshells, Captain Battling Billy Mitchell said "Thanks for the wakeup call, time to play some more hockey." They then went on to squeeze by Hogan's Heroes 3 to 2 in a semi-final overtime thriller before outlasting a gutsy effort by the well seasoned Crossman's Crosshairs squad. A well balanced squad with steadfast goaltending proved to be the decisive factors in the Vets side of the tourney this year.
